Zircon Circuit Breaker Finder CF 12

SKU:

ZRC-CF12

This product is currently out of stock
Description:

Circuit breaker finder finds the right circuit breaker every time. Circuit finder has two parts: a transmitter that plugs into a circuit via a standard outlet, and sends a signal down the wire connecting that circuit, and a receiver wand which is used to scan the circuit breaker panel. Simply plug the transmitter into an electrical outlet and then scan your circuit breaker panel twice to identify which breaker operates that outlet. During the first scan, circuit breaker finder may indicate more than one breaker as it memorizes each circuit, but on the second scan, the CF 12 will identify the correct circuit breaker with a green LED light and audio tone.

Features:

Easy 1-person operation.

Finds breakers faster and more efficiently with no accidental shutoffs.

Automatic calibration; lights and audio indicate circuit location.

Scan for easy identification and labeling of all breakers.

Units snap together for storage.

5Best circuit breaker finder you can buy!Nov 30, 2005
By Anthony Coon
This product works great! It is easy to use, reliable, and accurate. My co-worker and I used it at the office to figure out which outlet was connected to which breaker, and we made a schematic of it. We had first tried something from Lowe's, but it was nearly worthless since it didn't narrow it down to anything less than five possible breakers. But the Zircon CF12 usually got it to within one or two, and it was right on the money. It may be more expensive than the one you can buy at Lowe's, but it'll save you a lot of time and hassle in the end.

It worked fine the first time I used it but that was it. The next time I tried it.... nothing. I followed all the directions that came with it but there was no response as I moved the detector portion over the circuit breaker panel. Could not tell if it was the unit itself or the plug in part. Tried to locate a "contact us" address online but had no luck. I would not recommend spending any money on this item.

I just got the Zircon CF12 and tried it for the first time. It has an "continuous automatic calibration" function. According to the instructions on the unit, you "scan over all circuit breakers" then "rescan until the green LED only lights over one breaker. Rescanning causes unit to learn which signal is strongest." I found this setup a bit tricky to use for the first time. It also means that it cannot be used to find other plugs on the same circuit, or to find wires in walls, as people do with the manually calibrated units.

Also, the unit cannot really distinguish the two sides of half-width breakers. Maybe I'll like it better when I get used to it.

After purchasing an 83 year old condo, that had been remodeled at least 2 times, I used this product to help me through the maze of many electricians to determine my wiring.

I finally got one that works. Still leaves room for interpretation; but, narrows cb to just a couple.
