best seat cushion for my backMay 07, 2008
By Boston, MA I have tried several lumbar back cushions and seat cushion. This is my overwhelming favorite - the gel is firm and comfortable to sit on. I have found the regular foam pillows to be insufficiently supportive and too bulky. This cushion supports the natural curve of my spine, eliminating back and psoas muscle strain. The only challenge is that in a car, you'll need to adjust your car seat for the added height of the cushion. I own 4 of these for the cars, as well as kitchen and office chairs.

HORRIBLE CUSHIONSep 16, 2009
By D. R. Boyd I purchased a G Seat Gel Cushion a number of years ago and it is wonderful - soft, cushioning gel with a thin backing that makes it even more pliable and flexible. I thought I was purchasing another of the same quality, since it looked similar and was the same brand, but not so. This seat has a recycled rubber backing that is over 1/4" thick that makes the seat very hard, so much so that you hardly notice the gel. That backing, which smells like an old rubber tire, also keeps the seat from sitting flat. It is shipped folded and I can not as yet get it to straighten out. I paid almost as much for the original gel seat that I ordered years ago and would have paid more to get the same quality, but this is just a horrible seat for $59.00 or any price. It is totally uncomfortable. I would have given it minus 5 stars if that were possible. This was to be a gift for my husband, but since it is not the same quality as my old one and is so hard and uncomfortable, he refuses to use it, and I can't blame him. I am very disappointed.

Had it now for about a yearApr 12, 2010
By Terri I use this in my work vehicle (motorcoach) and it's very comfortable compared to the seat by itself. I always want to have something between me and the seat. Have tried other wedge-type cushions and this has been the best. The openings provide relief from heat and it doesn't slide around. I like that it folds and fits neatly in my workbag. It did have a petroleum odor at first but that dissipated after awhile. It fits perfectly in the center of a bucket seat and I can drive my full eight-hour shift and not experience any discomfort. I'd hesitate to purchase the larger one, for the wheelchair, since I think it would put pressure on the thighs. If your back aches from sitting for long periods, you're going to like this cushion.

Great BuyAug 14, 2009
By Wise Shopper Purchased this for my husband. He could not ride in a car for more than 30 minutes without his hip hurting. He uses this all the time now with no complaints of his hip hurting.
