I bought this cleanser for two reasons: it is pH balanced and it has natural/simple ingredients.
PH is very important for the skin because skin is naturally acidic. The acidity of the skin mantle provides a natural barrier from bacteria growth. I also love the ingredients in this cleanser. Even though the cleanser is not marketed as a natural cleanser, the ingredients in this product are mostly natural. There are no ingredients I cannot pronounce and no extracts I am not familiar with. I do not like to buy products with too many unfamiliar ingredients because that increases the chance that one of the ingredients might irritate my skin. This even includes "natural" products with too many essential oils and extracts I am not familiar with. The first two ingredients in this wash are mineral water and apple juice! I thought that was pretty awesome. I especially like that the foaming agents used in this wash are mostly plant extracts such as yucca root and soap bark--no SLS to irritate my skin. The wash also contains various alpha hydroxy acids (acetic, lactic, and sugar cane) which helps with exfoliation of dead skin cells.
Now that I've discussed why I first bought this product, I'm going to discuss why I'm going to buy this product over and over again from now on. I have suffered from acne ever since I was 10 up to my late teen years. I was using salicylic acid and benzyl peroxide products and taking antibiotics at the same time but none of that worked. I got desperate so I decided to take Actunae. Acutane got rid of the majority of my large painful cysts but my skin tone was still horribly uneven and I would still get breakouts every week. I have tried many cleansers trying to get rid of the last of my acne completely from drugstore brands (Neutrogena, Clean and Clear), to expensive Sephora products (Boscia, Philosophy, etc.), to handcrafted goat milk soap bars and none of that worked. However, after using the Frownies pH complexion wash for about 2 weeks, it did WONDERS for my face. This product is absolutely the best face wash I've ever used with noticeable results.
First, the cleanser was very gentle on my face and did not dry out or inflame my face at all. I do not get the tight faced feeling after I wash my face with this cleanser. Second, it controlled my breakouts. I used to get small pimples around my chin and nose every week before using this product. Now, I rarely get pimples (maybe one every month during that time of the month). Even if I do feel a pimple forming under my skin, it would never fully surface (turn into a whitehead) and usually disappears within 2 days. Third, the product evened out my skin tone and reduced the appearance of my pores. This was not an overnight change but due to the decrease in breakouts and less inflamed skin, I found my complexion improved overall.
I also have a prepubescent little sister who's starting to get breakouts on her forehead and nose and I bought a bottle for her to use at night with her benzyl peroxide wash in the morning. This has effectively controlled the pimples. I dont' think this was solely due to the benzyl peroxide because I also suffered from severe acne throughout my teenage years and benzyl peroxide did nothing for me.
With all the good things said about this product, my only complaint is that I wish it lathered a little better. The consistency is mostly watery. It smells nice though. It has a nice light grapefruit detergent scent.
Because I believe using a product for too long makes my skin accustomed it and the product less effective, I've been switching this product out with the PomWash Exfoliating Facial Foamer 5 Ounces every other month. The PomWash is not as good ingredients or results wise but it foams better and is another good gentle wash made form juice.
Again, I highly recommend this cleanser. It's not too expensive and it definitely works! If you're tried every cleanser out there and you want clear skin, please try this cleanser. Many other cleansers out there contain ingredients that could be irritating or dry out your skin but this product has none of that. I know Frownies is an aging skin care product line but this cleanser works wonders for young people, too.

'he skin becomes smooth and soft after using this cleanser, it has a pleasant texture. But I think that it is too acidic, so I would not recommend to use it every day, may be 2-3 times in a week. The big plus of this wash is its ingredients list: there are no parabens, fragrance and other harmful substances, everything is natural.
