These are great training goggles. I have had one pair last me well over a year without any maintenance during that year.

5Best Goggles I've hadAug 03, 2007

I started training for a triathlon last year. When I bought the goggles, I wasn't sure what to get. I got a pair of these, and boy did I luck out. I have no problems with leakage, and no problems with fogging either. The design allows for a better fit due to their superior adjustability.

5Best set of swimming goggles for the priceSep 16, 2011
By jschristian44
I have always disliked swimming goggles because they fit too tight on my head and created the swimming goggle redness and it hurt my eyes. I recently had a pair of Speedo Vanquisher's and they were very nice for the sun to keep it out of my eyes and were low profile. They had a plastic middle piece though and I think that's where the iritation lies. Those goggles had a lot of good reviews, and I would imagine for races they would be nicer for some people. But, for people who have larger heads and need comfort, these are the way to go. They have a rubber middle piece and great flexible rubber straps. It fits very well and snug to my eyes. I can't imagine a drop of water getting into these. The best part is the comfort on top of that. I got the purple/blue finish and although the goggles look more greenish/yellow than the purple/blue I don't mind. This will be even better at indoor swimming which I intend to use these for training all year. They also come with a very nice case to hold them in. For almost half the price of those Speedo's, these I would have paid like close double the price of the Speedo's because of how nice they are. Try them out if you have goggle comfort problems or just want a very nice goggle for training/racing for a good price. They look like they will hold up for quite a while as well!

In the summertime my community pool opens up for three months, so for that period lap swimming becomes my primary form of exercise. After about two weeks of chlorine-irritated eyes, I decided to invest in some goggles. I bought the mirror finish.

I liked the tint on the goggles, which cut down on the glare from the sun, essential for an outdoor pool. The goggles also worked well when swimming underwater.

It's been years since I've worn goggles and it took me a while to adjust them comfortably. I also had to find a different way to tie my hair back because the most comfortable place for my ponytail was also the best place for the straps to sit on my head.

The goggles are generally leak-proof and fairly comfortable, though I find I have to re-adjust them occasionally in the water because they are sitting strangely in my sockets. I also feel as though I get a little leakage in the interior corners of my eyes and wish that the bridge of the nose were a bit easier to adjust.

Overall, there is only so much that can be done without custom-fitting goggles and they work fairly well, though I think they could be a buck or two less for what you get.
