I bought one of these for a foot warmer. It functions as advertised, the problem is that from as close as 3 feet you cannot tell if it is on or off without staring closely at it. It need a light (LED) to tell you whether it is on or off. I can easily leave it on when I leave my desk and the foot warmer stays on all night.

Never have to climb under your desk looking for the plug or switch - just tape this onto a surface, or, put it in front of your keyboard like I do and it's instant gratification.

This switch does not seem to have any redeeming values. The difference between the high and low settings are hard to perceive. Had I known this before purchase, I would not have ordered it.

I bought this in conjunction with the heated mat by the same manufacturer.
Everyone said that you really want this switch to get the mat to operate at
a reasonable/enjoyable temperature... I would agree.
However, when mine arrived, I could only get two settings to work:
LO and OFF.
LO worked as advertised, and so did OFF. However, HI was also OFF.
I had my (rather handy) better half take the 3 screws out and look at the
internals. He found that it was "loose" inside and not snapped into place
as it was clearly intended to be. 30 seconds later, he had put it back
together and now all 3 settings work!
I must also say that this is one of the MOST UNATTRACTIVE switches I have
ever seen. The design looks like something (ugly) out of the 60's.
The text is big, but the switch movement is NOT, so you really
have to eyeball it up closely to see which setting it is currently on.
The only plus is that when you do have it on OFF, it actually shuts the
light off on the cord to the mat itself, so you can see that at a distance.
But distinguishing between HI and LO from afar is a challenge.
All in all, I'd say if you get one that is assembled properly, it's worth it.
If you don't, and you are at ALL handy with a screwdriver, you can probably
fix it. But my feeling is that you really should NOT have to "fix" a brand
new item you just bought, so I question their quality control.
Perhaps I was just an unlucky, isolated case. I am glad/fortunate that it
was so EASY to fix.

I use this with a switched, heated rubber floor mat. The low setting makes the rubber floor mat heater much more useful...it is simply too hot sometimes. Wish this switch had a power light to indicate that it is on. The light on the rubber floor mat is under the desk and too hard to see. I also have the old style rubber floor mat at the computer that has no switch, and that was a real pain to crawl under to plug and unplug. This switch is well worth the price, and the rubber heater mats really save on the heating bills (warm feet makes a cooler room much more liveable).
